Staying motivated is the key to self improvement


motivationMany people in the world tend to lack the motivation to improve themselves and achieve the goals they want to achieve. This could be due to depression, anxiety, low self confidence or negative peer pressure. Sometimes we have people around us that drain our motivation. What you need to do is surround yourself with people that increase your motivation. For example, if you are trying to get motivation to lose weight then you will need a personal trainer or a friend to keep pushing you towards accomplishing that goal. But if you just surround yourself with people who tempt you with junk food and tell you that
exercise is a waste of time, then you will likely lose the motivation to continue on towards losing weight. You need to be around people that will encourage you to work towards your goal. Peer pressure is the best motivation in the world. Just make sure it is positive peer pressure instead of negative peer pressure. Another reason people lose motivation is because of the distractions that are around them. Technology seems to be the biggest distraction in the modern age. People have televisions, computers, internet, smartphones and other gadgets all around them. Then there are the traditional distractions like kids, family, work and other obligations of life. So how is someone supposed to get motivated with all of these distractions around them? The best advice is to schedule time each day towards self improvement. It doesn’t matter if you only have 30 minutes or an hour to devote towards this because it is better than nothing. You should also write down a list of things that you want to improve about yourself. Start with one improvement at a time and then work your way down the list as you accomplish them. Try not to change too many different things about yourself at the same time because you will become overwhelmed and will likely lose the motivation to continue on. That is why it is better to change one thing about yourself at a time because it will help sustain the motivation so you can see it through to the end. However, you will find as you continue to improve yourself that it will be easier for you to stay motivated towards improving yourself. Then you will be able to sustain greater self improvement challenges than you could before.
